Our Product - HemoTech™

HemoTech

HemoTech™ is an oxygen-carrying bovine-hemoglobin (Hb) - based solution capable of substituting for the oxygen carrying and volume properties of red blood cells (RBCs), in the human body. The (Hb) based solution not only performs like the normal RBCs, but also induces anti-inflammatory and erythropoietic activity.

HemoTech™ was developed by Dr. Jan Simoni and Dr. Mario Feola from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. HemoBioTech has an exclusive world-wide license to commercialize HemoTech™.

“The quest for developing a substitute for human blood has been ongoing for over 35 years by pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. All efforts have had limited success due to toxicity. We have addressed this quest with our novel product, HemoTech™. It is a hemoglobin which is chemically modified to counter toxicity and has pharmacological properties such as induction of erythropoiesis (induction of red blood cell production) based on pre-clinical analysis and an initial clinical study.”

(President, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer)

The development of HemoTech™ is based on our proprietary platform technology involving chemical modification of Hemoglobin.

The development of HemoTech™ is based on the innovative idea that free hemoglobin-based blood substitutes can no longer be considered simply vehicles of transporting oxygen and carbon dioxide. Rather, they should possess properties that diminish the intrinsic toxic effects of hemoglobin and help eliminate the abnormal reactions associated with the loss of blood pressure and the lowering of vital signs resulting from the loss of blood during the hemorrhage.

HemoTech™ is created by reacting pure bovine hemoglobin with three chemicals:

These chemicals permit chemical modification of the hemoglobin to create the observed beneficial activities of HemoTech™ and introduce necessary changes to the hemoglobin that control oxygen affinity and other biological activities.

The use of o-adenosine provides several benefits to HemoTech™:
