Based on studies to date, the primary benefits of HemoTech™ are:

- Sustains close to normal amount of plasma in the blood
- Stimulates erythropoiesis, which is production of red blood cells in the body. This allows the body to replace its native blood supply faster than it would otherwise take following transfusion
- Compatible with all blood types and can be available for administration within minutes
- Shelf life of 6 months plus, as compared to normal blood shelf life of 42 days

HemoBioTech has a strong worldwide patent position and is pursuing a strategy to extend the life of its intellectual property. HemoTech™ has core patents covering 21 global markets in Europe, Asia, and North America. On May 18, 2006, HemoBioTech announced the filing of a patent application for induction of erythropoiesis (red blood cell production) by HemoTech™.
